John Moses Browning – The patron saint of firearms. A shortlist of his offspring; M2, M1911, M1918 BAR, .380 ACP, .45 ACP, .50 BMG. There’s literally too much to list here. Trust us, you’ve shot something he had a hand in developing or inventing.
Eugene Stoner– You’ve heard of the AR15? Yeah, he’s that guy.
Samuel Hamilton Walker– Literally Walker, Texas Ranger. He’s responsible for the Walker Colt, .44 ball revolver. He wanted a gun that could kill a man or a horse with one shot, so he and Samuel Colt made one.
John T. Thompson– The Chicago Typewriter, Trench Broom, or just plain ‘ol Tommy Gun. The M1921 Thompson Submachine Gun and its variants were chambered in .45 ACP and could put out 625 -1500 rpm, depending on the model.
John C. Garand– This one shouldn’t require any explanation but we’ll give you a little. The M1 in 30-06 saw service in the US from WWII through Viet Nam. Over 5 million were produced. According to Gen George Patton, it was the “…greatest battle implement ever devised.”
